Insta-worthy places in Hokkaido

14:30

Everyone is always talking about the beautiful places in Hokkaido. Hence, I would like to share with you my guide to these instagrammable places that I visited. Keep on reading for more!

Farm Tomita

First up, is Farm Tomita. I am sure you have seen this a lot on your Instagram feed etc. Farm Tomita is a Flower Farm featuring lavender fields and other flowers. As I went during autumn, the lavender fields weren’t blooming :( If you wish to see the full bloom of the lavender fields, I suggest you visit this place from early to mid-July. Although not all flowers were blooming in autumn, it was still beautiful and worth a visit.

Address: Japan, 071-0704 Hokkaido, Sorachi District, Nakafurano, 基線北15号
Opening hours: 08:30 – 18:00

Shirogane Blue Pond

The Shirogane Blue Pond is famous for its mysterious blue shimmers along with a stunning scenery of the silver birch trees. It was pretty in so many aspects! (A hot spot for photo taking.)
For those who are driving by car, there is a carpark space for you to park but you must walk quite a distance to see the magnificent Shirogane Blue Pond. Wear comfortable shoes!

Address: Shirogane, 美瑛町 Kamikawa District, Hokkaido 071-0235, Japan
Opening hours: 24/7

Furano Shrine

Furano Shrine is a small historical shrine, that also appears time to time in dramas. There are not many tourists there, so you can drop by and take a photo or two at the shrine.

Address: 17- Wakamatsucho, Furano, Hokkaido 076-0032, Japan

Jigokudani (Hell Valley)

Hell valley presents sulfurous streams and hot steam vents that can be seen if you follow the walking trails through the hills of Noboribetsu. If I am not wrong, you can enjoy a natural foot bath when you walk further in. Sadly, we did not manage to try it :(

Address: Japan, 059-0551 Hokkaido, Noboribetsu, 登別温泉町無番地
Opening hours: 08:00 – 18:00

Mount Usu

The Usuzan Ropeway can bring you closer to the summit of the volcano (Mount Usu). It costs about 1600 Yen per Pax (round trip). Mount Usu has walking paths for visitors to explore the area and snapshots of the mountainous view.

Address: 184-5 Aza Showa Shinzan, Sobetsu-cho, Usu-gun, Hokkaido, Japan 052-0102
Opening hours: 08:00 – 18:00 (Subject to change seasonally)
More information can be found on the website: http://usuzan.hokkaido.jp/en/

If you follow the walking paths, you will see a huge flight of stairs. You can enjoy a 360-degree view of the skyline from the top!

This concludes the end of my guide to Hokkaido. I hope it will help you for your next journey to Hokkaido!
