Khao Yai: Day 3

11:13

What a refreshing way to start your morning!

KHAO YAI NATIONAL PARK
A popular destination for foreign and local tourists. You can trek, cycle or drive around the park, witness animals (elephants, bears, etc) in action, and snap shots of the waterfall. There are number of waterfalls in the park, most of them easily accessible by vehicles combined with a short walk.
ALERT: The park covers an area of 2,168 square kilometres. 1,351 metre high Khao Rom is the highest mountain within the park. If you decide to trek there, I would recommend you to wear comfortable shoes and clothes and carry an umbrella.
There are a lot of steep and winding roads so be sure to stay safe (:
Guided tours are also available (more on their website). If you wish to explore the park privately, there are also private wildlife tours.

Entrance Fee: 400 baht per person.

Yup, there is a butterfly on my hat (Not photoshopped)

Overall, I find that it was worth getting up early in the morning for a walk at Khao Yai National Park. Love the cool breeze at the higher points of the mountain!! Great experience (:

THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
The Chocolate factory serves European cuisine with a blend of Thailand fusion dishes.
They also have wines from all over the world!

Chocolate factory is all about chocolate. Who doesn’t love chocolate??! They have a shop selling assorted chocolates in cute packagings that are perfect for gifts! Not only that, they even sell buns, spreads and body lotion etc. There are more than 30 entries created by Chef Eric Perez, who has been praised by the magazine Pastry Art & Design as one in 10 of top chef desserts of the United States. So you can be confident about the taste and quality of their chocolate!!

They are also the first and only one in Thailand that has a viewing gallery in the shop that you can watch closely by only a glass partition.

WOW look at the desserts!!!

BON BONS CHOCOLATE! There is a list where you can choose chocolates of your choice which will then be packed into a box. I have gone for Galaxy, Almond Bite (White), Soft Venezuela (Milk), Hazel Praline, Rose, Passion Fruit, Soft Matcha and Grand Manier. YUMS!

Craving for some sweet treats? The Chocolate Factory is a must-visit place in Khao Yai! (:

THE MEW KHAO YAI

The Mew will probably be the centrepiece that gels this afternoon into perfection. Contemporary design is evoked with the use of wood textures and earth tones; wonderfully integrated interiors. This place emits a casual, cozy and clean vibe. Indulge in Mew’s extensive Ala carte dining menu featuring dishes artfully put together that pleases both the eye and the palate. The well-thought out menu, pleases the discerning palates.

One of my favourite weekend pick-me-ups is Bruschetta served on a wooden board! (175 baht). Tom yam Goong Pizza was YUMMY! (185 baht) We also ordered the Triple Mushroom Soup (185 baht) and Mr Mew Tea Set (580 baht) For drinks, we ordered the Sweet 16. (85 baht) The attention to detail was marvellous!!! 3 words to describe the food: DELIRIOUSLY, DELICIOUS AND DESIRABLE!
The Mew offers flavours that speak for themselves. The presentation was flawless! With such delectable food and desserts, The Mew is undoubtedly the delicious reason to visit.

U KHAO YAI
Time to check into our very last hotel!!

U Khao Yai is a stunning piece of French style tucked away in a secluded & peaceful surrounding. The sense of tranquility afforded by nature is complemented by the sensuous, contemporary interiors. U Khao Yai offers a beautiful interior that effortlessly combines vintage charm with modern amenities.

Victorian decorated interior offered the epitome of luxury indulgence. The private balcony boasts spectacular views of the beautifully landscaped gardens. It makes a palatial base for a luxury getaway! The rooms were furnished beautifully to exceptional standards. Can I just say that it was the SWEEEETEST room I’ve ever stayed in.

Even the Spa was designed to suit the theme of the hotel!! With U Spa by Tao Garden, U Khao Yai invites you to relax, rejuvenate and replenish through an array of luxurious spa and massage techniques. We decided to go for the U Olive Oil Massage 60 mins (1,000 baht). This massage combines the ancient techniques of Balinese and Swedish massages to both refresh your soul and renew your skin with the use of special premium extra virgin olive oil. Service was tip-top and the service staffs were generally friendly and efficient.

Everything about U Khao Yai is worthy of a glossy design magazine. In my opinion, this was my favourite hotel among the rest. Totally would not mind coming back again! It was… PERFECTION (:
Check out their web page for more photos and details! (DOWN BELOW)

RIBS MANNN KHAO YAI

To end our last night on a sweet note, we had our dinner at Ribs Mannn. Ribs Mannn is ranked under top 10 restaurants on TripAdvisor. Therefore, we decided to give it a shot!
It offers an indoor and outdoor seating area.

What we ordered: Porchini Mushroom Cream Soup (295 baht), Smoked Pumpkim Cream Soup (295 baht), Calamri Salad with Hot Yuzu Sauce (380 baht), BBQ American Pork Ribs (480 baht), and Wagyu Steak with Thai Spicy Sauce (590 baht). The ribs was tender, tasted heavenly and perfectly cooked. As for the Wagyu Steak, the meat was grilled nicely and slightly charred on the edges, while the inside retains its juiciness. The Thai Spicy Sauce complemented well with the steak. Everything tasted SO GOOD!

This is the end of my Khao Yai trip. I had the most wonderful time there with my loved ones and it was truly a satisfying trip. Thank you for reading my posts! See you on my next blog post (:
